An Evening with Dom Glynn & His Sunday Best at Cafe No9
The Spiel
"What do you get when you have an Englishman from Birmingham, UK, playing the sort of vintage two-steppin' tunes that country's founding fathers would be proud of? The unique and intriguing sound of Dom Glynn & His Sunday Best." – Holler Dom Glynn & His Sunday Best is the project of Birmingham-born songwriter and guitarist Dom Glynn, who has spent years immersed in the traditions of classic American country music. In his early twenties, Glynn was already performing extensively in venues across London, developing his craft through countless live shows inspired by his American musical heroes. Through years of dedication, he has developed a songwriting style rooted in the spirit of artists such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr., alongside guitar work influenced by players like Mississippi John Hurt and Doc Watson. This deep respect for tradition underpins a growing catalogue of original material that feels both timeless and personal. In recent years, Glynn has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Ireland. Since 2023, he has been backed by His Sunday Best, an electric band featuring Laurence Kingston (telecaster), Roman Xavier (drums), and Jack Trouble (bass and harmony vocals), delivering a high-energy modern honky-tonk sound. The band has performed at major festivals including Kilkenny Roots, Black Deer, and Rotterdam Bluegrass, building a reputation for dynamic, dance-driven live shows. In December 2025, they released their first live album, capturing the raw energy of their electric sound, with new singles from upcoming LP This Fast Life is Killing Me continuing to gain momentum into 2026. ********************************************************************************** Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue.
