An Evening with Iona Kaye & Daniel Isaiah at Cafe No9 - a Double Headline Show
The Spiel
Iona Kaye is a singer, songwriter and improviser based in Sheffield who trained in classical music at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her songs blur folk and classical, pairing warm, expansive vocals with delicate guitar and piano. Her poetic landscapes are tender, wild and raw, inviting you into a world of purple moons and trampolines, of howling wolves and salt poured into grazed knees. Alongside her solo project she is Co-Artistic Director of NOMAD, an ensemble who create intimate storytelling performances. ********************************************************************************** Born, raised, and still rooted in Montreal, Daniel Isaiah captivates audiences with his guitar, piano, and unmistakable voice. His work has been called "stunning" by American Songwriter, reached #1 on Canadian campus stations, and aired regularly on CBC Radio. Isaiah's live performances have been widely praised: Alan Cross wrote, "Within thirty seconds of him coming onstage I was transfixed… extremely evocative, atmospheric and even slightly ominous." His Leonard Cohen tribute at Le Rialto was called "breathtaking" by La Presse. Other highlights include festival appearances at Osheaga, SXSW, and Pop Montreal, opening for Stephen Malkmus, Van Dyke Parks and Patrick Watson, and tours in Quebec, Ontario, New York, and Italy. His fifth solo album, Western Medicine (Apr 17, 2026), is a 10-song collection of roots-inspired songwriting, recorded with some of Canada's finest musicians. ********************************************************************************** Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue. All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
