An Evening with Seán Gray at Cafe No9
The Spiel
Seán Gray Digs into the Politics and Poetry of Ayrshire Mining Communities with his debut album Fixed Assets. A nominee for Scots Singer of the Year at the 2024 Scots Trad Music Awards, the Glasgow-based Ayrshire native is already firmly established in the international folk community, as a session player, singer, guitarist, performer, and the recipient of a prestigious Celtic Connections New Voices composing commission. Fixed Assets is deeply musical, lyrically compelling, beautifully considered and arranged, with the powerful poignancy of celebrated Ayrshire poet Rab Wilson’s words and Gray’s responsive composition and refined musical handling distilled into an evocative and respectful exploration of living history. ********************************************************************************** Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue. All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
