An Evening with Shoon at Cafe No9
The Spiel
SHOON were melded in the fires of the Steel City of Sheffield sometime in the last few years...... taking the iron ore of the 60s British Folk Revival as their base, they have sprinkled in alloying elements of Americana, Blues and a couple of looping pedals to create fresh interpretations of mostly traditional folk songs. Featuring the vocals of Rebecca Hearne, memorably described as the Tyson Fury of the Yorkshire Folk Scene, the guitar, fiddle and voice of the mighty Ric Booth, well known as the busiest musician and producer in Sheffield, and all held down by the upright bass of Johnny Griff, SHOON will sing you songs of love, murder, infidelity and cuckoos. ********************************************************************************** Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue. All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
