Blame It on the Pop Rehearsed Reading

The Spiel

Open Works Festival Presents a rehearsed reading of Blame it on the Pop. “Remember how huge we used to feel when we were together? The size of us? Everything was so hilarious. I bet we were a fucking nightmare.”Fifteen years after disappearing from each other's lives, Beth turns up on Lilly's doorstep in the middle of the night. Together, they’re pulled back to the one night that changed everything: New Year’s Eve 2009 and a secret party in the Pennines. A time when they told each other everything. Well, almost. There are some things they can't say. A darkly funny new play about female friendship, teenagerhood, regret, and the long aftermath of coming of age in the noughties.
