The Spiel
Open Works Festival presents a work in progress, Branches, Hands and a Ticking Sound. Branches, Hands and a Ticking Sound is a multimedia work that takes inspiration from contemporary biology and ancient folklore, with a soundscape created from field recordings of the inner workings of trees. A scale model of a forest has been discovered in a flooded garage. Two people decide to repair this miniature world, and then eventually start adding to it. The process of exploring the model forest takes them to some very surprising places.
