The Spiel

CHROM was founded in May 2007 by Christian Marquis and Thomas Winters, who, after years of friendship, discovered their shared passion for catchy, danceable, yet melodic electro sounds. CHROM stands for an effective synthesis of synth-pop, EBM, and club electro, meaning: richbeats, penetrating basslines that can be quite powerful, garnished with memorable melodies. Their debut album, "Electroscope," was released in April 2010 on Fear Section, distributed by Out Of Line Music. In March 2012, CHROM released their second album, "Synthetic Movement," also on Out Of Line Music, further refining their signature sound that blends club and electronic pop. Their third studio album, "Peak & Decay," followed in 2016 and immediately entered the Official German Album Charts. Thomas Winters left the band in 2022. Since then, frontman Christian Marquis has continued the band solo, with live support from Alexander Suttmer on keyboards. They are currently working on a new album, scheduled for release at the end of 2025. The two singles "Paralysed" and "Agony" were released in 2024 and offer a taste of the new album: more powerful and emotional than ever! Fresh yet familiar! CHROM is back!!!
