The Spiel
A rare chance to see a live recording of Radio 4's weekly music programme, where Jeffrey Boakye and Anna Phoebe explore the rich web of connections in music, from Beyoncé to Beethoven. Special guests will include Oscar-winner Anne Dudley, best known for her music on The Full Monty and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Expect plenty of Sheffield musical stories, with her first big orchestral arrangement for ABC’s album The Lexicon of Love. She will be joined by highly acclaimed Sheffield-based English folk musician, singer, and composer Jon Boden, best known for his work with the multi-award winning Bellowhead. Important note from Crossed Wires Festival: As tickets are free, people often request more than they need, so we have to issue more tickets than there are seats available to allow for this. Entry into the show is on a first come, first served basis, and is not guaranteed even with a reservation. Please arrive in good time.
