The Spiel
Running time: around 1 hour and 56 minutes (including an interval) Orpheus makes a deal with the Gods to rescue his lost love, Eurydice. But descending to the Underworld comes at a price in this ambitious new version of Orpheus & Eurydice which unites Gluck's celebrated music with dance and a new orchestration from composer Leo Grant. A double-bill of timeless stories of love and loss features Elena Langer's powerful and haunting Ariadne paired with the drama and desolation of Purcell's classic Dido & Aeneas, performed on period instruments.
