Good Day Sunshine poster at Playhouse

The Spiel

Contains references to police violence, arrest, panic attacks, suicidal ideation, strong language. Open Works Festival Presents performance ready, Good Day, Sunshine. On Valentine’s Day in New York City, an activist cycles across town delivering scones for a fundraiser, dressed as the sun and struggling to remain hopeful. As protest, police violence and news from a distant genocide seep into her day, an act of care verges toward self-erasure. Driven by percussion, dark humour and documentary storytelling, Good Day, Sunshine is an intimate solo performance about activism, burnout and the struggle to remain tender in a collapsing world.
