The Spiel

Full band show with special guests - Harry Bird is a modern day troubadour, mixing “genius songwriting” (RnR Magazine, UK) with a voice that has captivated audiences all over Europe and beyond. An experienced circus and theatre musician, he is a versatile storyteller with a love of rhythm and rhyme, allegory and dance. Drawing on British folk, Americana and other world music genres, his lyrically charged performances are a freewheeling cabaret of finely crafted songs and good humour. His compositions have featured on stage and on screen, most recently in Damian McCarthy’s horror films, the award winning “Oddity” and the 2026 thriller “Hokum” (starring Adam Scott). He has written the soundtracks to four touring circus shows in the Basque Country (performing in two), sung on audiobooks for Penguin and appeared regularly as a multi-instrumental actor/musician at the Bristol Old Vic theatre.2026 sees the release of his fifth studio album, “Absurditties”, following 2023's "Mucho Picnic" and three earlier albums as Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies on his own label Hot Drop Records. His band includes Scottish-Australian bluegrass maestros Pepita Emmerichs and Theodore Barnard (Rain of Animals / Good Guy Hank) and powerhouse Scottish songwriter Gavin McGinty (GAVIN / Sinderins). Original, entertaining and thought-provoking, his energetic, feel-good shows are not to be missed.Press:“Songwriting genius… Simply magnificent” – R2 magazine (UK)“Fresh and entertaining as few others” – Mondo Sonoro magazine (Spain)"Pay attention for folk’s sake" - Pure Mzine (Ireland)harrybird.com
