S&m Presents: Kimono
The Spiel
Sidney & Matilda Presents: Kimono + Cam Davey + Alexandra Leaving Five minds, one motion; Kimono are here to make you feel it. It’s what they do . Don’t believe it? Have a listen yourself and see what feelings they can conjure. Kimono makes music that moves like the city they call home, Liverpool (and a bit of the Wirral… keep it quiet). It’s a sound that’s completely their own, lyrical depth, proper energy. Songs may take you to past loves or lost nights, filling your head and heart…heavy… but these are tracks you will dance to. Common emotion, unrelenting drive, and a point to prove. Their blend of alt-indie melancholy and funky disco grooves prop up sinister pop hooks giving their sound a strangely cinematic tension equal parts inviting and warning. Allow yourself to put your life on pause and press play on their first EP The Night Experience, which they have performed in iconic Liverpool and Manchester venues such as The Jacaranda, Round the Corner, and the new Jacaranda Baltic. Their debut full length release, Lend Me Thy Hand, promises to push you into the depths of oblivion and then pull you back out with a shoulder-socket-popping jolt of something sincerely human, sharp, and undeniably unique. The band's biggest musical inspiration heavily draws from the alt rock band Red Hot Chilli Peppers but also incorporates the styles of Foals and Strfkr to create this angelic and mystical sound that’ll knock you off your feet. £5 ADV / £8 OTD Doors - 7:45pm
