The Call of Cthulhu - Story Told by Jason Buck

The Spiel

Lovecraft’s classic gothic horror tale is brought to life, imagined as a cold case investigation, examining the notes of the unfortunate nephew of a recently and mysteriously deceased Professor of Archaeology, and resulting in the narrator's sinister predictions of his own doom ... and that of mankind. Presented by award-winning storyteller Jason Buck, in Nether Edge's Cafe No9, this one-man show tells the stories and reveals the secrets and connections, hidden within them! Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Ages adult and teen (13+) "Jason Buck is a man made of myth, magic and mead. His stories are filled with adventure, his beard is full of unexpected twists and his tankard filled with a poet's brew. Sit around the fire and listen to his tales - you won't be disappointed." Abbie, Sussex. "I'm a long time fan of Lovecraft and this was a superb take on the tale, a fresh look at old materiel that drew you steadily into the mythos, as if pulled inwards by discordant drum beats. As each revelation is drawn from the muck of ignorance Jason echoes through to our modern times with technology and new facts that make the gibbering horror all so very plausible in our digital age. The climatic end to the telling truly draws you into the twitching bestial heart of Cthulhu and his wretched followers." All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
