Young Songwriter Showcase Evening #3 at Cafe No9 - Hosted by George Howard

The Spiel

Hosting Cafe No9's third young songwriter showcase, Sheffield native George Howard is an upcoming singer-songwriter with a penchant for crafting fresh, folk-inspired numbers. Often touching on social issues, George aims to move audiences with emotive lyricism, finding inspiration from his own personal conflicts and relating these struggles to a wider audience. Looking to release his debut album of original material in 2026, George hopes to de-mystify the art of songwriting and cultivate a unique musical approach to the well established singer-songwriter genre. ********************************************************************************** Iona Kaye is a singer, songwriter and improviser based in Sheffield who trained in classical music at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her songs blur folk and classical, pairing warm, expansive vocals with delicate guitar and piano. Her poetic landscapes are tender, wild and raw, inviting you into a world of purple moons and trampolines, of howling wolves and salt poured into grazed knees. Alongside her solo project she is Co-Artistic Director of NOMAD, an ensemble who create intimate storytelling performances. ********************************************************************************** Will Martin is a Singer-Songwriter from Lincoln with a focus on folk music. With a background in Classical Guitar, he blends his instrumental style and reflective lyrics in a way that creates a unique intimacy within every live performance. With each set, he wants to open a window into his musical life and inspirations, giving every listener the chance to connect with him in turn. After having recently graduated from York Uni, he’s diving back into live music with a series of performances across the Midlands and Yorkshire ********************************************************************************** Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue. All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
