Tramlines Festival 2026 is Sheffield's biggest party. Three days of live music, comedy, and culture at Hillsborough Park, Friday 24 to Sunday 26 July 2026. Born as a city-wide takeover in 2009 and now drawing around 40,000 music lovers each July, Tramlines is the inner-city festival the Steel City waits for all year.

Tramlines 2026 dates
Tramlines lands at the end of a packed July in Sheffield between the 24th and 26th of July, right after Crossed Wires and Bassfest, and the same weekend Matthew Bourne's The Car Man closes at the Lyceum. If you're planning the full month, see our What's On in Sheffield: July 2026 roundup.
Tramlines 2026 lineup: headliners and day splits
The lineup is out. Three nights, three main-stage headliners:
Friday 24 July — Fatboy Slim
Fatboy Slim tops the Sarah Nulty Main Stage, with Kaiser Chiefs and The Vaccines also on the bill. On T'Other Stage, look for The K's, Starsailor, and more; comedy is led by Reginald D Hunter. Black Honey headlines the Leadmill Stage with support including Radio Free Alice and Westside Cowboy.
Saturday 25 July — Courteeners
Courteeners headline Saturday night — a huge singalong moment for anyone who grew up on Falcon and Mapping the Rendezvous. Blossoms and Rick Astley feature on the main stage; Gabrielle heads T'Other. Sheffield representation runs deep: Freddie Halkon, The Pattern, Push, and the Leadmill Studio Orchestra all feature. Ross Noble leads the comedy bill.
Sunday 26 July — Wolf Alice
Wolf Alice close the festival on Sunday, alongside Wet Leg and Reverend and the Makers on the main stage. The Enemy lead T'Other; across the site you'll find The Royston Club, Florence Road, The Lilacs, and Dom Joly's Trigger Happy TV anniversary show winding down the weekend.
Other names on the wider poster include Inspiral Carpets, Sleeper, The Coral, KEO, and plenty of emerging acts, exactly the mix Tramlines has built its reputation on: massive headline sets and unsigned Sheffield talent in the shop window.
Tramlines stages at Hillsborough Park
Tramlines spreads across five unique stages at Hillsborough Park, each with its own energy:
- Sarah Nulty Main Stage — the heart of the festival, named in memory of former festival director Sarah Nulty, with Parkwood Springs as the backdrop. This is where the headliners land.
- T'Other Stage — big names, alternate flavours, and plenty of discovery.
- Leadmill Stage — tied to one of Sheffield's best-loved venues; new music and local legends.
- Library Stage — community performances and hidden gems.
- Open Arms — welcoming space for diverse programming across the weekend.
Into the Trees is the dedicated family area: workshops, arts and crafts, funfair rides, baby-changing, and shaded seating, so Tramlines works as a family festival as well as a late-night party.
For upgraded comfort, VIP gets you priority entry, private bars, better toilets, and a chill-out zone. VIP + The Fancy Bit (new for 2026) adds a viewing platform by the main stage, lounge seating, and premium street food.

How to get to Tramlines (Hillsborough Park, Sheffield)
Tramlines is a metropolitan festival, the organisers strongly advise against driving because of congestion around Hillsborough Park. Plan ahead:
Tram (recommended)
Supertram serves Hillsborough well. Buy advance tickets on the TSY Mobile app for better value. From Sheffield city centre, tram + a short walk is usually the smoothest route for most visitors.
Train
Sheffield station has regular trains from across the UK. From the station, allow around 15 minutes by tram, bus, or taxi to the park.
Walk
Walking in is often the best option if you're staying nearby, Hillsborough is very walkable from parts of S6 and the city fringe.
Bus
Alight at the Hillsborough Park stop. Check Travel South Yorkshire for live routes; some services are disrupted when the festival finishes — plan your return journey.
Bike
Use the Penistone Road entrance (S6 2AN) — there's a bike rack at that gate.
Car / taxi
Possible, but expect queues. If you must drive, build in serious extra time.
On-site you'll find toilets, food traders, bars, water points, medical and welfare, a box office, merch, and full accessible facilities (viewing platforms, accessible toilets, changing places, induction loops.)
Why Tramlines matters to Sheffield
Tramlines started in 2009 as a city-wide celebration, pubs, clubs, and street corners alive with sound, before settling into its home at Hillsborough Park. It's been called one of the UK's best inner-city festivals: gritty, warm, and sincerely Sheffield.
Through the Tramlines Trust, the festival gives back to local charities, grassroots projects, and young people starting out in music and events, fitting for a city that's the UK's first City of Sanctuary.
Whether you're there for Fatboy Slim on Friday, belting out Courteeners on Saturday, or Wolf Alice on Sunday night, Tramlines is the weekend when The Outdoor City puts on its party clothes.
