Japan Fest Brings a Celebration of Japanese Culture to the City This August!Sheffield, UK – Sunday 9th August – Japan Fest Sheffield returns this summer, transforming Steamworks into a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture, entertainment, food and community from 11am onwards.Japan Fest Sheffield is a family-friendly cultural festival bringing together both traditional and contemporary Japanese experiences under one roof. Visitors can enjoy live performances, interactive workshops, authentic Japanese cuisine, unique traders and activities inspired by Japan's rich cultural heritage and modern pop culture.Live Stage PerformancesJapan Fest Sheffield will showcase an exciting programme of live entertainment celebrating the many sides of Japanese culture. Visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese music from Aki Kitagawa and Sumie Kent on the koto, alongside the powerful rhythms and energy of Tengu Taiko, bringing one of Japan's most iconic performing arts to the stage.The festival will also feature a variety of contemporary performances, including the distinctive sounds of LeLe (JPOP), the dynamic duo of LJ English & Okusama (SHOW-ERA Performance), and fan-favourites Black Tsubaki (JROCK) and Jero11 (Shamisen). Together, they offer a unique blend of Japanese-inspired music, performance and entertainment that reflects both traditional and modern Japan.Anime and pop culture fans can round off the experience with DJ Manimal & Cerisina's popular Hatsune Miku Glow Stick Experience, combining anime music, visuals and audience participation in a high-energy celebration of Japanese pop culture.Interactive Activities for All AgesThroughout the day, visitors can take part in a variety of interactive activities designed to introduce and celebrate Japanese culture. Guests can learn the art of origami, take part in Japanese basic language sessions, and create their own colourful keepsakes through fox mask painting workshops.Visitors can also experience the unique atmosphere of the Meian Maid Café, inspired by the famous maid cafés of Akihabara. These hands-on activities provide fun and engaging experiences for attendees of all ages, whether they are discovering Japanese culture for the first time or are long-time enthusiasts.
